Maple

Welcome to Maple class, our teachers are Mrs Donaldson and Mrs Cook-Paine. We are a Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 class. We are very lucky to have a fantastic outside learning area that we use to explore the world around us and investigate and develop different skills. We love playing in the mud kitchen and making buildings and vehicles with the crates and the large polydron.

Our teaching assistant is Mrs Pike who is full time in Maple Class and has had many years of early years experience; working with small groups and delivering some interventions. She is very creative and we can always rely on her for new ideas.

The children work in many different groupings including age and ability according to the learning activity; helping each other sharing their skills and knowledge.

Stay and play withe new Reception children!

In P.E today the children were asked to be seeds; some were spiky and some were gentle. It helped to understand how seeds travel to germinate.
Today the Pre-School and Reception children had a story about rainbows and then they did colourful activities.

Today. Tuesday,  Mrs Pike led a guided reading session with the Reception children called Josie and her kite. They then had great fun trying to fly a kite outside. It was very windy which helped but they then had to rush in because it started to snow! There was great excitement!
