SEND

The headteacher Rhiannon Tidby has overall responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Disability. Michelle Cook-Paine is the designated teacher responsible for coordinating Special Educational Needs and Disability and has day to day responsibility for provision. 

 

The governor with oversight of the arrangements for SEN and disability is Sally Faraday. These people may all be contacted through the school.

 

Our school provides a broad and balanced curriculum for all children. The National Curriculum is our starting point for planning that meets the specific needs of individuals and groups of children. When planning, teachers set suitable learning challenges and respond to children's diverse learning needs.

Some children have barriers to learning that may arise from having special educational needs and/or disability and require particular action by the school. Where it is decided that a child has SEND, the decision is recorded in the school records and the parents / carers are informed. We value everyone’s input into the SEND process so it is important to us to work with parents, families and the children so that everyone is involved.

Our school has an accessible toilet and we can offer assistive technology, such as ipads, where this helps to provide access to the curriculum. Our accessibility plan is monitored, reviewed and reported upon annually to the Governing Body in compliance with legal requirements.
